Josep Maria Cruset, Junts deputy in the Congress, denounced the total collapse of the Rodalies railway service in Catalonia this Wednesday, blaming the situation on chronic underinvestment by successive central governments.

Cruset directly pointed out the political figures responsible, citing former ministers Ábalos, De la Serna, and Pastor, and the current one, Óscar Puente, as examples of continuity in negligence. He maintained that although the names change, the mismanagement and abandonment of the infrastructure are constant.

"Today the person responsible is called Puente; yesterday it was Ábalos and before that De la Serna or Pastor. The names change, but the mismanagement and abandonment are the same."

The Junts deputy spokesperson offered condolences to the family of the fatal accident victim in Gelida and warned that such episodes demonstrate that Catalonia "cannot afford a crumbs financing system," demanding that resources generated in the territory remain there.
According to Cruset, the total stoppage of the railway service "is neither an isolated nor a temporary event," but the direct result of "years and years of lack of budgetary execution and investments" by the Spanish State, with daily consequences for Rodalies users.
