The objective of this initiative is to promote sports practice among children and young people up to 18 years old, especially those from families with socioeconomic needs. The grants partially cover the cost of fees for sports schools and clubs in Gelida, thus fostering physical activity, social cohesion, and equal opportunities.
Applications can be submitted from November 10, 2025, to January 30, 2026. These grants will cover up to 80% of the sports activity cost, with amounts reaching up to 175 euros per student, depending on the family's economic and social situation. In special cases, Social Services may consider a 100% subsidy.
All families registered in Gelida with children under 18 years old enrolled in a sports activity with a club in the municipality can apply for the aid. Applications must be submitted within the established deadline via a generic online or in-person application at the Citizen Attention Office.
The council emphasizes that this line of aid reinforces Gelida's commitment to sport as an educational tool and for social inclusion, ensuring that no child stops practicing sports for economic reasons. The City Council encourages all eligible families to seek information and participate.
