The Government of the Generalitat has tendered the informative and environmental impact study for the comprehensive improvement of the N-260 road, the Pyrenean Axis, in the section between Xerallo and El Pont de Suert.

The action focuses on the section connecting Pallars Jussà and Alta Ribagorça, proposing various route options, including a tunnel bypass to avoid the Port de Perves, which reaches 1,300 meters in altitude. This intervention is valued at 280 million euros and is part of the management agreement signed with the Central Government in July 2023.

"The country advances through actions and agreements."

Albert Dalmau · Minister of the Presidency
The objective is to execute the works during the agreement's validity, until 2033. Of the 260 million euros reserved for the corridor, 150 million will be specifically allocated to the Perves bypass, while the remaining 110 million will be dedicated to other projects along the axis. The Executive seeks to reinforce the N-260 as a territorial backbone for mobility and economic activity in the Pyrenees.
The announcement was made during the Diàlegs per Lleida conference, held in Tremp. In addition to the N-260, the Government also announced improvements to other access roads to the Pyrenees, such as the Comiols axis (L-512) and the Bonaigua road (C-28). Separately, it was confirmed that the closed section of the AP-7 in Gelida, affected by a slope collapse two weeks ago, will reopen on Monday at 3 AM.
