One injured person from Gelida train accident remains hospitalized

The Minister of the Interior, Núria Parlon, confirmed in Parliament that one person injured in the Gelida train accident remains hospitalized, while efforts are underway to normalize traffic on the AP-7.

The Minister of the Interior and Public Safety, Núria Parlon, appeared before the Parliament to offer an informative session regarding the management and measures adopted following the tragic train accident in Gelida.
Parlon confirmed that, of the total number of injured, 26 were discharged from the hospital within a few hours. Currently, only one person remains hospitalized. The Minister took the opportunity to once again lament the death of one person in the incident, which was caused by the train hitting a collapsed retaining wall.

Furthermore, the Minister indicated that the Procicat Railway Plan remains activated due to the resulting mobility issues, especially on the AP-7 motorway. This plan will remain in effect until road traffic southbound on the AP-7 has been normalized, which Parlon is confident will happen «soon».
