Nine Rodalies user platforms have demanded a meeting with the Generalitat for January 23, 2026, at the Palau de la Generalitat to assess the network situation and post-accident measures in Gelida.

The nine entities have sent a joint document to the Catalan Government expressing their deep concern about the current state of railway transport. They demand to know firsthand what the situation “really” is and what specific actions are planned after the serious accident that occurred in Gelida.

Users consider the continued suspension of the Rodalies service "inexplicable".

The letter, accessed by the ACN agency, also demands to know how similar incidents will be prevented in the future. The meeting is requested for tomorrow, January 23, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Palau de la Generalitat.
Among the signatory entities are the Association for the Promotion of Public Transport (PTP), Dignitat a les Vies, Defensem el tren de l’Empordà, the public transport user platform of Baix Llobregat, and Trens Dignes Ebre – Priorat. Two or three representatives from each platform are expected to appear to demand answers.
