Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez will appear before the plenary session of the Congress of Deputies on February 11 to explain the recent train accidents in Adamuz and Gelida, and his international meetings.

Sources from Moncloa confirmed that Sánchez's appearance will take place during the first plenary session of the ordinary period, which resumes in February. This decision follows the serious incidents in Adamuz (Córdoba) and Gelida (Alt Penedès).
The Spanish executive reiterated that the request by the Popular Party (PP) for Sánchez to appear previously before the Senate has been rejected. The appearance before Congress will be made at the request of the Prime Minister himself, according to government sources.
Although the rail accidents are a main point on the agenda, the registered request also stipulates that Pedro Sánchez must report on "the position of the Government of Spain in the different international meetings and forums in which he has participated."
