The incident occurred on the highway's median, where a truck lost part of its load of concrete beams. Consequently, the left lanes in both directions have been closed.
Due to the closure of one lane per direction, delays of 15 kilometers southbound towards Tarragona and 5.5 kilometers northbound towards Barcelona have occurred.
Alternative routes suggested to avoid the jams are the N-340 or the C-32, the latter being a toll road.
