Vilafranca-born defender Àlex Moreno will be sidelined for six weeks after medical tests confirmed a soleus muscle injury in his left leg following the recent match against Oviedo in February.

The Girona FC left-back suffered the injury during the closing stages of the match at the Carlos Tartiere stadium. While manager Míchel was initially cautious about the diagnosis, clinical tests have now confirmed the six-week recovery period for the Vilafranca del Penedès native.
With no natural replacement in the squad, Míchel has had to look for alternatives. In the recent clash against Sevilla at the Pizjuán, Arnau Martínez was deployed as a makeshift left-back to cover the vacancy left by Moreno.
Àlex Moreno is set to miss crucial fixtures against FC Barcelona, Alavés, Celta Vigo, Levante, and Athletic Club. He is expected to return to action at Montilivi against Villarreal on the weekend of April 4th, following the March international break.
