The project, starting this September, focuses on relocating strategic equipment, such as electrical panels and generators, to higher areas of the building. This measure seeks to prevent a recurrence of the incidents caused by last year's dana, which forced the center to close for three weeks.
In addition to relocating critical systems, the Alt Penedès-Garraf Health Consortium will carry out structural reinforcement and waterproofing improvements on the roofs. Work is also underway on the connection to the municipal sewage network, including the installation of non-return valves to prevent flooding in the sewer system.
The works, which will continue until the last quarter of 2027, will also allow for the technological renewal of equipment. This modernization aims to increase the center's energy efficiency and advance the decarbonization process of the hospital facilities.
