The local community of Vilafranca del Penedès is mourning the death of Armand Beneyto i Albero, who passed away this Thursday at 93 years old after decades of service to local culture.

A pillar of the El Penedès Choral Society and a former administrator of the Festa Major, Beneyto was awarded the Medal of the Town in 2008. His diverse contributions spanned from literature, with books like Paraules al vent, to sports, serving as a board member for FC Vilafranca.
Throughout his life, he remained deeply connected to social causes, founding the Les Clotes Neighborhood Association and presiding over the local Senior Citizens' Center. He is survived by two children and two grandchildren.
