Catalan coach Andrés Carrasco joins Chinese side Chengdu Rongcheng

The Olèrdola-born manager will serve as assistant coach to John Aloisi in the Chinese Super League.

Football coach Andrés Carrasco, from Olèrdola, has moved to China this March 2026 to become the assistant manager of Chengdu Rongcheng under head coach John Aloisi.

The Chengdu club, established in 2018, is currently leading the Chinese Super League standings. Carrasco arrives in Sichuan province following a stint in Ukraine with LNZ Cherkasy, adding to his vast global experience in countries like Georgia, Australia, and Turkey.
With a professional background that includes FC Barcelona and Shaktar Donetsk, as well as serving as Kuwait's national team head coach, Carrasco brings significant expertise to the ambitious Chinese project.
