The Font-rubí weather station exceeded the 100 km/h threshold this Wednesday during a windstorm that has forced the Catalan Government to suspend all educational activities for tomorrow.

Ten Meteocat stations recorded extreme gusts today. While Puig Sesolles led the ranking with 139.7 km/h, Font-rubí in the Alt Penedès region was among the most affected areas. Other nearby towns like Vilafranca del Penedès and el Vendrell also recorded significant gusts exceeding 70 km/h.

Due to the maximum danger forecast for Thursday, the Vilafranca del Penedès City Council has announced the closure of all municipal buildings and schools. Civil Protection remains on high alert under the Ventcat plan, advising citizens to avoid travel.
