The Government of Catalonia has confirmed that Rodalies and Regional train services will remain free of charge until March 31, as the rail network has failed to return to normal operations.

The measure, originally introduced following a major rail accident in Gelida, was set to expire on March 15. However, the Department of Territory confirmed that the extension is necessary due to ongoing service gaps on the R3, R4, R8, and R15 lines, along with over 200 temporary speed restrictions causing daily delays.
Minister Sílvia Paneque stated that the new deadline aligns with the schedule set by the Ministry of Transport to resolve the most critical safety and infrastructure issues detected during recent network inspections.
