Writer Joan Ríos i Rallé is set to present his second novel, Llum d'aigua, this Friday at 7:00 PM at the Alt Penedès County Council headquarters.

Published by Stonberg Editorial, the book takes place in the Vall Fosca during the early 20th century, focusing on the monumental construction of Catalonia's first major hydroelectric power station.

"It is a journey that begins in the lakes, at over 2,000 meters, with water traveling all the way to the Capdella plant to create light."

The novel combines historical facts, such as the labor strikes of 1912, with fictional characters to illustrate how the arrival of electricity and 3,000 workers transformed a remote mountain valley.
