FC Vilafranca has announced the surprising incorporation of Víctor Oribe, an emblematic former player of the club, to play the remaining six league matches and try to avoid relegation to Primera Catalana.

The board of FC Vilafranca has made an unexpected move to try and reverse the team's delicate situation. Former player Víctor Oribe, 37, will return to the field to face the last six matches of the season, with the clear mission of keeping the team in its current division.
Oribe was a key figure during FC Vilafranca's golden era last decade, participating in two promotion play-offs to Segunda B, reaching the semifinals of the Copa Federación, and playing in the Copa Catalunya final. During his previous stint at the club, the player from Mont-roig del Camp played over 200 matches and scored 85 goals.
After leaving the club in January 2023 for professional reasons, Oribe continued his career at Reus-Reddis until December of the same year, when he decided to retire definitively. However, his involvement with football continued in the Kings League, and now, with this return, he will regain the feeling of playing on the pitches of Catalan football.
