The Casal de Vilafranca has opened the submission period for the 12th edition of the Rosa Florido Award, a prize aimed at amateur theater groups and acting schools across Catalonia.

Founded in 2012, the award honors the memory of Rosa Florido, a key figure in the local theater scene. Since 2018, the competition has focused on original theatrical creations to support emerging talent in the Penedès region and beyond.
A significant change this year is that only plays written in Catalan will be eligible for the prize. The winning production will receive a cash award and a guaranteed performance at the Teatre Casal in autumn 2026.
The deadline for submissions is April 20, 2026. The award ceremony will take place on June 11 at 7:00 PM as part of the Cultural Associationism Day celebrations.
