The event, a key date for the Wine Capital, successfully filled the town's central area despite a cold start to the day. The celebration is part of the Xató Route, which includes nine municipalities such as Sitges and Vilanova i la Geltrú, uniquely offering all local varieties in one place at the Vilafranca event.
Beyond gastronomy, the day featured family activities. Children's workshops for making xató were fully booked, while new additions like giant wooden games and aromatic plant workshops at Hort de Cal Gallina received high praise from attendees.
“"This helps reinforce a common territorial goal, adding value to our local gastronomy and wines."
The fair also included craft stalls and local food products, alongside wine tastings from the DO Penedès. Cultural interest was further piqued by a guided tour of the city's modernist heritage, which also reached full capacity.
