The Town Council of Pacs del Penedès has announced the municipality's participation in the Oxfam Intermón Trailwalker 2027, an event that combines sport with fundraising to improve access to safe drinking water for vulnerable communities. The event will take place on April 10-11, 2027, with the start and finish located at the sports area of Vilafranca del Penedès. The routes will pass through various towns in the region, including Pacs del Penedès.
Participants can choose from different challenges: a 100 km challenge (registration €150, minimum fundraising €1,500), a 50 km challenge (registration €100, minimum fundraising €1,500), a 25 km challenge (registration €75, minimum fundraising €1,500), and a 10 km challenge (registration €50, minimum fundraising €500). In all categories, teams will walk and raise funds for the solidarity cause.
To form a team, participants need to gather between 2 and 10 people, depending on the distance, and designate a coordinator. The 50 km and 100 km categories require a support team. Fundraising can be achieved through individual donations, corporate sponsorships, or social media promotion.
The Town Council encourages residents to form teams, represent the municipality, and participate in this unique experience that combines sport, nature, and solidarity, contributing to improved access to drinking water.
