The meeting, organized by Micropobles, was an opportunity to showcase the working model of Pacs del Penedès, based on cooperation between the Town Hall and the school to generate educational opportunities, strengthen community ties, and improve the quality of life in the municipality.
During their presentation, they shared various initiatives from the Pacs del Penedès, Educator Town project, such as the EvaLudens project, open playgrounds, the school's network-based work, and Youth Councils. They also emphasized the importance of the nursery school stage as the beginning of the educational journey and as an essential space for supporting children and their families.
Participation in the convention allowed for reflection on the fundamental role of rural schools in small municipalities, viewing them as places for coexistence, relationship building, value transmission, and collective identity construction. It was stressed that ensuring the continuity of schools is essential for preserving roots, fostering family settlement, and guaranteeing lifelong educational opportunities.
Pacs del Penedès reiterates its conviction that education is a shared responsibility and that collaboration among municipal stakeholders builds a more cohesive and opportunity-rich community. Participation in this convention aims to raise the profile of local educational experiences and exchange knowledge with other rural municipalities.
The Town Hall thanks Micropobles for organizing the event and UVic-UCC for their contribution to this exchange platform.
