The AD Monjos and FC Puigdàlber teams played an emotional Alt Penedès derby last weekend, which ended in a 2-2 draw and highlighted support for the assistant coach's son.

Beyond the sporting rivalry, the match played at the Santa Margarida i els Monjos municipal stadium became an act of solidarity towards Chema Cabanillas, the assistant coach of FC Puigdàlber. The players and technical staff of the red-and-white team took to the field wearing shirts in support of his son, Marc Cabanillas, who is overcoming a serious health problem. AD Monjos also joined the recognition.
Regarding the purely sporting aspect, the final 2-2 result did not fully satisfy either team. The hosts, coached by Salva Rojas, dominated the first half with goals from Alex Gil (27th minute) and Iker Aragón (37th minute), closing the score 2-0 at halftime.
In the second half, FC Puigdàlber, led by Toni Colomé, reacted quickly with goals from Jaume Cardús (48th minute) and David Barrio (70th minute), achieving the definitive draw. This point distribution benefited the league leader, Atlètic Vilanova, which thrashed UE Avinyonet (4-7) and now pulls away with 44 points, three more than Puigdàlber (41).
