Anna Atsarà Adan, originally from Vilafranca del Penedès, has established herself as a key figure in Spanish beach volleyball, playing for Braveheart de Las Palmas, the league leader, after moving to the Canary Islands last year.
Atsarà, 27, began her sports career in indoor volleyball with CV Vilafranca. However, coinciding with restrictions due to covid-19, she decided to change the setting and try her luck on the sand, a decision that has led her to the elite of this sport.
After being part of the CV Vilanova structure between 2020 and 2024, last year she accepted the challenge of competing with the new Braveheart de Las Palmas. Initially, she commuted from Vilafranca for matches, but this year she has moved to live permanently on the island of Gran Canaria.

"I knew some players who competed in the beach volleyball championship and they told me that a new team in Las Palmas was looking for girls to form the squad."
The player highlights the great following and growth of beach volleyball in the Canary Islands, favored by the climate. Her team, which started the league with a resounding victory against Beachbol Valencia, maintains clear dominance in the competition.
“
"I prefer beach volleyball over court volleyball even though I was linked to the court for many years. In beach volleyball, you need to be faster and have more game vision, because ultimately we are only two players on the sand."
Anna Atsarà is the daughter of Josep Maria ‘Parxi’ Atsarà, the historic football player and coach from Vilafranca. Although the distance makes it difficult for her family to watch her compete regularly, the player from Vilafranca del Penedès is already showing signs of becoming a future champion in the elite of this sport.
