The Gegants de Vilafranca are participating in the exhibition Ara balla pel camí at the Official College of Architects of Catalonia in Barcelona, from January 16 to February 20, commemorating the 425th anniversary of the Gegants del Pi.

The participation of the figures from the Vilafranca Festa Major holds special significance, as the Gegants de Vilafranca are also documented in the year 1601, the same date marking the first written reference of a giant in Catalonia.
The exhibition Ara balla pel camí, which can be visited at the COAC (Plaça Nova, 5, Barcelona) from January 16 to February 22, traces the history of the giants from 1601 to the present day, highlighting research conducted at the Parish Archive of Santa Maria del Pi.

The Vilafranca del Penedès City Council values this participation as an opportunity to project the local festive heritage in a space of great visibility and national scope.

Due to their presence in Barcelona, the Gegants de Vilafranca cannot be visited at the Casa de la Festa Major until their participation in the exhibition concludes, scheduled for Tuesday, February 20.
The commemoration of the 425th anniversary of the Gegants del Pi will extend to the Penedès region in July, with a joint visit to the Castle of Penyafort, in Santa Margarida i els Monjos, and an extraordinary parade in Vilafranca concluding at the Basílica de Santa Maria.
