ERC Vilafranca has denounced that citizens are paying the waste tax for a "fictitious service" due to the delay of over four years in implementing the new collection system.

The Republicans urge the local government in Vilafranca del Penedès to demand that the Mancomunitat Penedès-Garraf, currently led by PSC and Junts, implement the service for which citizens are already being charged.

The delay is unjustifiable, it has been carried out without transparency and provides no clear solutions for the recycling objectives.

ERC notes that the waste collection service is more than four years behind schedule, criticizing the Mancomunitat's lack of transparency in explaining how the new system will be launched, even though the tax was approved for 2026.
Furthermore, the Republicans claim that the current contract has worsened street deterioration. They demand the renewal of the truck fleet and that the Mancomunitat cover the cost of repairing public road damages.
