The program, aimed at Vilafranca's elderly population, will take place at the municipal centers of L'Espirall and El Tívoli, as well as the Casal Cívic i Comunitari of the Generalitat. The deputy mayor and councilor for Social Rights and the Elderly, Ramon Zaballa, highlighted the more than thirty planned activities, covering physical activity, creativity, artistic expression, emotional well-being, training, leisure, and socialization. Additionally, physical activity will be offered in health parks, cognitive stimulation workshops, and the Obrint camins project for emotional support and community life.
The new term will be marked by renovation works at the two municipal centers. According to Zaballa, the works at the L'Espirall center will be completed in October, while those at El Tívoli will be finished before the end of the year. "A significant investment is being made," stated the councilor, who thanked neighborhood associations and entities for their collaboration in providing spaces during the renovations, as well as the users for their patience. "In January, we will have new and improved adapted spaces," he added.
“"In January, we will have new and improved adapted spaces that are much better than what we had, allowing us to offer more activities."
The presentation event concluded with the screening of the participatory short film A la bretxa, promoted by the elParlante collective in collaboration with the Consell Assessor de la Gent Gran de Barcelona. The film, starring veteran Catalan actress Carme Sansa, tells the story of Núria, an elderly woman who reflects on the digital divide, intergenerational relationships, and unconditional family love. The short film was presented by journalist Alfredo Cohen.
