A man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison by the Audiència de Lleida after admitting to the sexual abuse committed against his two daughters and five other minors in the Val d'Aran.

The sentence follows the defendant's acceptance of the charges brought by the Prosecutor's Office, which initially sought a much higher penalty. The incidents occurred during family gatherings over nine years, until 2020, where the accused performed inappropriate touching on the seven victims.
This conviction comes despite the fact that the man had been tried just three months ago for a similar sexual abuse case, from which he was acquitted. The admission of the facts before the Lleida court was key to the swift resolution of the case.
The operation that led to his arrest and prosecution was the result of an investigation by the Mossos d'Esquadra, who gathered the complaints from the victims and their families. Collaboration between judicial and police authorities has allowed this highly serious case in the region to be closed.
