The local government of Compromís X la Seu and the opposition group Junts per la Seu have agreed to pass the 2026 municipal budget for la Seu d'Urgell.

The agreement, set to be ratified this Thursday, includes a freeze on the IBI (property tax) and other municipal fees. This fiscal stability is supported by a recent debt reduction of over 2 million euros and increased state transfers.
Key points of the deal involve enhancing public safety through the installation of surveillance cameras and filling all vacancies in the Municipal Police force. Additionally, the street cleaning team will be expanded with three new workers to improve urban maintenance.

"The budget aims to bet on the city's future while responsibly responding to present needs with economic sustainability."

Strategic investments will focus on the renovation of public lighting and the rehabilitation of the Ca l'Armenter building. The pact also ensures monitoring of major regional projects like the new Alt Urgell County Hospital.
