The INUNCAT emergency plan remains on alert due to the forecast of intense rainfall primarily affecting the western Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees this afternoon. According to Civil Protection, the showers may be accompanied by thunderstorms and, in some areas, violent weather phenomena.
The Meteorological Service of Catalonia (Meteocat) has issued an alert for precipitation intensity, forecasting over 20 liters per square meter in 30 minutes. The most affected areas will be Alt Urgell, Pallars Sobirà, Pallars Jussà, and Alta Ribagorça. There is also a lower probability of these phenomena in parts of the Central Pyrenees, areas of Central Catalonia, and the regions of Lleida and Terres de l’Ebre.
For Sunday, no warnings for intense rainfall are expected, according to current forecasts.
Regarding Friday's assessment, Civil Protection noted that despite intense rainfall and violent weather phenomena such as strong winds and hail recorded in various parts of Central Catalonia and the regions of Girona, only about twenty calls were received by the 112 emergency number. Most of these calls came from Selva and Berguedà.
