The Alt Urgell Regional Council has approved an 11.1 million euro budget for 2026, marking an 8.76% increase compared to the previous year.

The budget growth is largely driven by extraordinary funds from the Local Cooperation Fund, primarily allocated to school canteen grants. Key areas such as education, social services, and rural access will receive 53% of the total funding.

"It is an issue that becomes more serious every year, this absolute dependence on funding that is often unstable or uncertain."

Josefina Lladós · President of the Regional Council
While Esquerra supported the accounts, Compromís voted against them due to a perceived lack of future projects. The CUP abstained, calling for more investment in housing and renewable energy.
