The town of Arsèguel has hosted the second edition of Bateig de Llibres (Book Baptism), an initiative aimed at fostering connections between industry professionals and readers, with a focus on literary production from the Pyrenees.
This event, serving as a prelude to Sant Jordi, primarily seeks to create a space for dialogue and visibility for literary creation and publishing in the Pyrenean region. The program included various activities, notably a roundtable discussion centered on local research.
“
"Considering there is a good crop of local history and research books, we thought it was interesting."
The program featured the participation of about fifteen authors, including Joan Aixàs, Pilar Betriu, Pepita Clop, Albert Ginestà, Roser Guix, and Montse Milan, who presented their latest literary works. The organizers emphasized the importance of showcasing the region's publishing output.
“
"The fundamental objective of the entity is to give visibility to literary creation and editorial production in the Pyrenees. One of the actions is this as a small taste of Sant Jordi."
In addition to the presentations, the event served to disseminate the catalog of the Associació Llibre del Pirineu, which compiles the most recent publications. The activities concluded with a literary itinerary through the streets of Arsèguel, inspired by Albert Villaró's book Cadí, una biografia.
