The Ebro Hydrographic Confederation (CHE) has been conducting preventive water release maneuvers at the Oliana and Rialb dams for three weeks to manage snowmelt and recent rainfall.

The state of reserves in the Segre basin has shifted dramatically after years of extreme drought. Constant monitoring is now in place to prevent sudden flooding. These operations have significantly increased the river's flow in Lleida, Balaguer, and Seròs, exceeding 100 cubic meters per second.

"The 2024-2025 hydrological year was already wet, and 2025-2026 is being very good in terms of water reserves."

Specific data shows that the Rialb reservoir is at 90% of its total capacity, while Oliana stands at 68.5%. This abundance of resources guarantees all needs for the upcoming irrigation campaign, according to the organization.
