Children's proclamation kicks off Festa Major 2026 in La Seu d'Urgell
Children from local youth centers opened the festive events with a jointly created proclamation, followed by a parade and performances.

La Seu d'Urgell's Festa Major 2026 commenced this Friday morning with the children's proclamation, read by youngsters from the city and region's youth centers, marking the start of the festivities.
Children from youth centers in La Seu d’Urgell and the Alt Urgell region opened the first event of Festa Major 2026 with the reading of the children's proclamation. The event, attended by the second deputy mayor, Gemma Tó, and the Youth and Childhood technician, Aida Clotet, wished the young attendees an enjoyable festival.
The children's parade started from Plaça dels Oms, proceeding along Carrer Major to Plaça Catalunya, where a tent was set up to minimize sun exposure for the children. The procession was led by children from the Municipal Casal of La Seu and Castellciutat, followed by Casal Languedor, Casal de Bellestar, and Casal de Pixies, all wearing themed costumes and dancing to music.
After the parade, two students from the Escola de Teatre de la Seu d’Urgell enlivened the event, inviting each youth center to the stage to perform musical pieces and dance choreographies. Finally, representatives from each center read the jointly created children's proclamation.
