The Festimariu 2026 festival began this Friday in Estamariu with a notable public response. The celebration was marked by the opening of the Cal Parramon Library, a new space for cultural activities located on the ground floor of the building.
This new cultural facility hosted the first phase of the festival, including the valuable bibliographic collection of Joan Planes Vila. To launch the library's literary program, writer Paco Boya presented his novel "Bajo el mismo cielo". The event featured an introduction by Montse Ferrer, director of the Fundació Planes Corts.
Subsequently, music took center stage, complementing the municipality's Romanesque heritage. The church of Sant Vicenç d’Estamariu served as the venue for a concert by the duo Celeste Alías and Santi Careta.
With the church full, the duo delivered an intimate performance that captivated attendees, highlighting the festival's ability to blend contemporary culture with Pyrenean roots. This successful start promises a weekend filled with decentralized cultural events.
