The La Seu d'Urgell City Council has secured an injection of 12.5 million euros from the Pla de Barris (Neighborhood Plan) for the economic and urban revitalization of the center, coinciding with the tender for two plots designated for new affordable housing.

The project, which has been welcomed by all municipal groups, will benefit the capital of Alt Urgell in key areas such as housing, commerce, economic activities, urban transformation, and the improvement of municipal facilities. This aid line from the Pla de Barris benefits a total of 20 Catalan municipalities, including la Pobla de Segur.

"The investment of 12.5 million euros coming from the Pla de Barris is a historic opportunity."

Concurrently, the Government of Catalonia has put out to tender two plots ceded by the City Council for the construction of affordable housing. La Seu d'Urgell is the only municipality in the mountain regions included in this first call of the new plan, which encompasses 37 plots across Catalonia to build up to 1,940 public flats. Furthermore, works have begun in the Missió passage to construct 12 social rental homes over 16 months.
In the infrastructure sector, the renovation works for the Molí Vell building have been awarded, which will be converted into a multipurpose hall. Regarding mobility, the City Council has definitively approved the new Traffic Ordinance, which tightens control over electric scooters and motorhomes, and a survey has been launched to define the future Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PMUS).
