The city council of la Seu d'Urgell approved a formal declaration this Monday to condemn the unilateral offensive by the United States and Israel against Iran.

All political parties in the council —Compromís, ERC, Junts, and CUP— joined a collective plea calling for adherence to the United Nations Charter. The document stresses that diplomacy and dialogue should prevail over military force in global conflicts.

"The law of the strongest should not prevail in the world, as is currently happening."

Francesc Viaplana · ERC Spokesperson
Mayor Joan Barrera highlighted the negative economic consequences of the Middle East crisis, specifically the rise in fuel prices. Other council members argued that unilateral wars are not the way to solve human rights issues or international disputes.
