The Alt Urgell Regional Archive received the documentary fund of the company PEUSA this Monday, a historical collection documenting the evolution of the electrical sector in the region for over a century.

The transfer includes nearly 350 linear meters of documentation, ranging from accounting records to technical files on infrastructure development. This volume of material, spread across 1,117 boxes, becomes one of the most significant commercial and industrial funds in Catalonia, allowing for an analysis of the impact of electricity's arrival in La Seu d'Urgell and Cerdanya.
The transferred material not only covers the company's activity but also provides information on suppliers and other entities that have been part of the territory's economic fabric. Additionally, nearly 50 boxes of historical documents dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries have been integrated, enriching the archive's documentary heritage.

"It allows us to organize and ensure that the company's historical narrative is maintained in a state of perfect preservation and that people can consult it."

The process of receiving the fund, approved by the Alt Urgell Regional Council, will culminate in classification, digitization, and inventory tasks. The ultimate goal is to facilitate access for researchers and the public, while always ensuring the protection of personal data and compliance with current archive regulations.
