The road surface has suffered significant deterioration due to heavy rainfall during January and February. The project will focus on resurfacing the damaged areas and restoring horizontal road markings to improve safety for the high volume of traffic in the area.
Local mayors from Montellà i Martinet and Pont de Bar had been calling for immediate action, describing the current state of the national road as dangerous. They argued that temporary patches were no longer enough to address the growing number of potholes.

The works aim to resolve safety concerns in the Alt Urgell and Cerdanya regions, where local residents have reported vehicle damage caused by the poor condition of the asphalt.
