The Odisseu program has launched its eleventh edition to encourage university students to take part in paid internships at companies and entities in Alt Urgell and other rural areas.

The Pràcticum Odisseu initiative primarily aims to promote the return and settlement of young people in the less populated territories of Catalonia. In addition to encouraging local roots, the program seeks to improve the competitiveness of the local economy by incorporating university-trained talent.
The program is aimed at undergraduate students who have completed at least 50% of their credits or official master's students from any of the 12 universities in the Catalan system. The internships must last a minimum of 300 hours and be completed before September 15, usually during the summer months.
This year, the remuneration for students has increased to a minimum of 7 euros gross per hour. Public funding will cover 60% of the first 300 hours, representing a direct aid of 1,260 euros for hiring entities located in Leader territories.
Companies interested in offering positions have until March 9 to submit their offers. Subsequently, students can send their applications between March 13 and April 14. The program is coordinated by the Consorci GAL Alt Urgell-Cerdanya with support from the Generalitat de Catalunya.
