Abandoned off-road vehicle on the bank of the Segre river.

An off-road vehicle, which crashed on the N-260 in Pont de Bar over two years ago and ended up in a ravine, was finally removed from the Segre riverbank this Wednesday.

The off-road vehicle, which was involved in a road departure on April 27th at kilometer 214 of the Eix Pirinenc, was removed this Wednesday from the area known as Mal Troc, opposite the serra de Boumorta. The accident injured three people and required a complex rescue operation involving eight fire crews, a medicalized helicopter, and several patrols from the Mossos d'Esquadra.
For over two years, the off-road vehicle remained untouched amidst the vegetation, with neither the driver, a resident of Bellver de Cerdanya without a license or insurance, nor the relevant authorities showing interest in its removal.
It was the entity 'Per una Catalunya Neta', coordinated by Toni Olm, with the collaboration of the Fundació Integra Pirineus, that organized the action. Using a tractor, they dragged the vehicle to the N-260 for its final transport to a scrapyard.
In a separate incident, a black vehicle that crashed on April 4th at the same kilometer 214 of the N-260, in Pont de Bar, was also recently removed by the maintenance service of the State Road Network. The presence of this vehicle on the roadside posed a real danger due to the high traffic density on the road.
