Around a hundred education professionals protested this Wednesday in la Seu d'Urgell as part of a Catalonia-wide strike to demand better labor conditions and more resources.

The demonstration started at Camp del Codina square and reached the Andorra roundabout, where protesters blocked traffic at the junction of the N-260 and N-145 highways for several minutes.

"It is not a temporary problem but a structural one. We are overwhelmed by paperwork while student ratios continue to rise."

Unions are calling for an increase in education spending to 6% of GDP, as established by law, and the recovery of wages that have seen a 25% cut since 2019.
Specific demands were also made for rural schools in the Pyrenees region. Similar protests were held in Puigcerdà, Tremp, and Vielha throughout the day.
