The Alt Urgell Comarcal Council and tourism entities have presented the second edition of the Volta a l'Alt Urgell, a hiking challenge that will cover the eastern half of the region between February and May.

The Consell Comarcal de l’Alt Urgell, the Patronat de Turisme de la Diputació de Lleida, and the Marxa Nòrdica Cadí Pirineus association presented the second edition of the Volta a l’Alt Urgell pels camins del Camina Pirineus. This challenge, open to all Nordic walking and hiking enthusiasts, aims to continue discovering the region on foot, focusing this year on the eastern half, moving from south to north.

"It consolidates a proposal that unites sport, nature, and territory, promoting the discovery of our landscape and reinforcing sustainable and healthy tourism."

Josefina Lladós · President of the Alt Urgell Comarcal Council
This initiative follows up on the first edition, held in 2025 in the western part, and proposes completing the route in stages through the network of trails of the Camina Pirineus project. This project recovers and marks traditional old paths, promoting knowledge of the natural and cultural heritage of Alt Urgell.

"Proposals such as the Volta a l’Alt Urgell reinforce the positioning of Lleida and the Pyrenees as a reference destination for hiking."

Juan Antonio Serrano · Vice President of the Lleida Provincial Council Tourism Board
The Volta 2026 calendar includes six stages, scheduled between February and May, always on Saturdays. The outings are intended for hikers accustomed to walking on mountain terrain and will be guided by the Marxa Nòrdica Cadí Pirineus team, often with the participation of local guides, an aspect highlighted by Albert de Gràcia, head of MeteoPirineus.
The first stage will take place on Saturday, February 28, going from Altés to Oliana. Subsequent stages will include routes from Organyà to Llobera (March 14), from Llobera to Sorribes de la Vansa (March 28), from Tuixent to La Trava (April 18), from El Ges to Arsèguel (May 9), and finally, from Estamariu to Arcavell (May 23), thus completing the regional route.
