The Mossos d'Esquadra and the Municipal Police of la Seu d'Urgell are conducting preventive traffic controls to improve road safety during the Carnival celebrations.

This special operation, coordinated by the Catalan Traffic Service (SCT), will run until Wednesday, February 18. The initiative aims to reduce fatalities and serious injuries on the roads of the Alt Urgell region by targeting impaired driving.
So far, eight drivers have been reported for various infractions during the random checks performed in the regional capital. These operations take place at different times of the day to ensure maximum effectiveness.
Authorities remind the public that the only safe blood alcohol level for driving is 0.0%, urging motorists to exercise extreme caution and respect all traffic regulations during the holidays.
