The La Seu d'Urgell Municipal Government recently approved several infrastructure investments and a new Circulation Ordinance, marking a significant push in urban modernization and local traffic regulation.

The La Seu d'Urgell City Council has awarded the reform works for the Molí Vell building, located in the historic center next to the Parc Olímpic del Segre. This property will be transformed into a multipurpose hall that will temporarily host classes for the Work Transition Plan (PTT). Simultaneously, a tender has been launched to reinforce the structure of the right wing of the Centre Cultural Les Monges, with an initial investment of over 300,000 euros to ensure its stability and future opening.
Regarding mobility, the new Circulation Ordinance was definitively approved unanimously, strengthening control over electric scooters and motorhomes. The regulation requires scooter drivers to be over 16 years old, wear a helmet and insurance, and prohibits circulation on sidewalks. Furthermore, the pacification project for the initial section of Sant Ermengol street has been greenlit, which includes widening the sidewalk and replacing blue zone parking spaces with limited-time parking.
At the regional level, the Alt Urgell has received an injection of one million euros for improving access roads in ten villages, including les Valls d'Aguilar and Coll de Nargó. Works have also begun in the Missió passage to construct 12 social rental homes for young people within a 16-month period. These actions are part of a broader investment context, such as the over 590,000 euros allocated for accessibility in Alt Pirineu i Aran using Next Generation funds.
Finally, the Local Government Board of La Seu d'Urgell approved the renovation of the changing rooms at the Emili Vicente Municipal Field and the arrangement of pavements and sidewalks in various locations. Additionally, eight municipalities in the region received over 45,000 euros in aid for snow removal expenses from last winter, highlighting the need to adapt infrastructure to mountain climate conditions.
