The city of La Seu d'Urgell concluded its participation in La Marató de 3Cat with a collection exceeding 11,000 euros, entirely dedicated to cancer research and awareness. This figure was achieved thanks to the involvement of numerous local entities and institutions that organized around twenty solidarity activities, with the central event held on December 14 in Plaça Joan Sansa.
La Seu d'Urgell once again joins the World Cancer Day by illuminating the City Hall facade to give visibility to actions against the disease.
The spirit of solidarity was also evident in food aid campaigns. The Gran Recapte d'Aliments 2025 managed to collect over 5,500 kilograms of products in La Seu d'Urgell and the region, thanks to the collaboration of residents, volunteers, and businesses. Furthermore, the Escola Albert Vives contributed 480 kilograms of food through its traditional Tió Solidari, an activity now in its sixteenth edition.
In the international sphere, the La Seu d'Urgell City Council subsidized the NGO Cruzada por la Alegría with over 8,000 euros to acquire medical material for children with cancer in Santiago de Cuba. Likewise, the Vacances en Pau project allowed six Sahrawi children to be hosted in the city, while La Salle La Seu dedicated its Encesa Solidària (Solidarity Lighting) to improving the living conditions of young people in Togo.
