UNED Rector Ricardo Mairal visited La Seu d'Urgell this Monday to meet with Mayor Joan Barrera and consolidate the center's role as a key tool for accessing higher education in the Pyrenees.

The Mayor of La Seu d'Urgell, Joan Barrera, received the UNED Rector, Ricardo Mairal, on Monday for an institutional visit focused on the challenges of distance university education in mountain areas. The meeting highlighted the strategic importance of the university for attracting and retaining talent in the Pyrenees.

Barrera also stressed that the presence of UNED in La Seu is a “fundamental opportunity to enjoy educational opportunities, regardless of the place of residence,” and emphasized the council's commitment to continue working to expand and consolidate the educational offer.
For his part, Ricardo Mairal highlighted UNED's commitment to La Seu and the Pyrenees, noting the importance of collaborating with local councils to adapt courses and qualifications to the social, professional, and economic needs of each area. Mairal was accompanied by the director of the local center, Maria José Moreno.
