The Agència de Residus de Catalunya (ARC), attached to the Department of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition, has announced the call for these grants. The main objective is to promote the cleaning, removal, transport, and treatment of asbestos waste, as well as covering the costs of actions already carried out on replaced fiber cement roofs.
This subsidy is intended to cover damages caused by exceptional or catastrophic meteorological episodes, according to reports from the Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya (Meteocat). Alt Urgell is one of the beneficiary regions, having suffered a severe hailstorm on August 19, particularly affecting the municipality of les Valls d'Aguilar.
The total budget for the call amounts to one million euros. The deadline for submitting applications is one month from the official publication. In addition to Alt Urgell, the aid is also directed at municipalities in Ripollès and Garrotxa.
Specifically, the towns of Vilallonga de Ter and Llanars, in Ripollès, and Santa Pau, Sant Joan les Fonts, the Vall d'en Bas, and Mieres, in Garrotxa, will also be able to access these subsidies for the removal of damaged materials.
