The third edition of the Camin_art festival has filled the surroundings of El Pont de Suert with participants this weekend. The initiative, focused on hiking, has allowed attendees to discover some of the most emblematic spots in the capital of Alta Ribagorça.
Friday's inclusive route saw about fifty people participate. In parallel, another excursion led attendees to the monumental holm oak of Cabossi, a tree estimated to be around 700 years old.
Around fifteen participants trekked through the Vall d’Erta, the smallest village in the municipality and one of the highest inhabited areas in Catalonia. This hike offered participants panoramic views of the landscape, dominated by the Cap dels Vedats d’Erta, the municipality's highest peak at 2,631 meters.
During the hike in Vall d'Erta, hikers also had the opportunity to learn about the local artistic heritage, including the Romanesque church of Sant Bartomeu, an example of the rehabilitation and conservation efforts undertaken by the local community.
Additionally, a family-friendly route was organized to the Tossal de les Forques, which attracted about twenty participants. For Sunday, the festival had scheduled a walk between villages and a guided excursion to the cabanes de Gotarta.
This year, the festival has appointed local athlete Neus Peiró and renowned hiking photographer Rafael López Monne as ambassadors.
