The Plaça dels Arbres in Calaf was the setting for the tenth edition of the Pumpkin Fair this Sunday, November 1st. The event saw a high turnout of visitors, solidifying the fair as an anticipated date in the municipality's autumn festive calendar.
The fair featured over twenty stalls offering pumpkins and seasonal gastronomic products, alongside crafts and local produce. Attendees could discover typical autumn items and enjoy a festive day coinciding with the All Saints' Day celebration.
The program also included family activities, such as the wooden games organized by Xics del Xurrac, which enlivened the square's atmosphere.
One of the main attractions was the traditional Giant Pumpkin Contest. The first prize went to Jordi Xandri Bajona from Sant Llorenç de Morunys, with a pumpkin weighing 485 kg. Second place was awarded to Àngel Llohis Sampons (295 kg), and third to Dani Castellà from Casserres (278 kg).
With this edition, the Pumpkin Fair reaffirms its appeal and ability to draw crowds. The Calaf Town Council has expressed a very positive assessment of the day and thanks the stallholders, participants, organizations, and visitors for their contribution to the fair's success.
