ANC renews leadership with Josep Vila as new president

The assembly of the pro-independence organization has elected its new board in a meeting held in Igualada, with Lluís Llach as vice-president.

The new National Secretariat of the Assemblea Nacional Catalana (ANC) has appointed Josep Vila as president for the next two years, with Lluís Llach taking on the vice-presidency.

The decision was made at a meeting in Igualada, where Vila secured 39 out of 58 votes, exceeding the two-thirds qualified majority required in the first round. This change in leadership comes after Lluís Llach decided not to seek re-election due to health reasons, although he will continue to be part of the organization's board.
In addition to the presidency and vice-presidency, the new National Secretariat, formed after last week's elections, has also appointed Ariadna Heinz, from the former critical sector, as secretary, and Blanca Currià as treasurer. The new leadership aims to strengthen the organization's direction.

The leadership transition at the ANC has been carried out with broad consensus, as explained by the vice-president, who emphasized that his new role will focus on supporting territorial assemblies and conveying the message of
