The Anoia region registered 55,795 Social Security affiliates in 2025, exceeding the average growth rate of Catalonia, thanks to the strong increase in foreign workers.

Data from the Institut d'Estadística de Catalunya (Idescat) confirms that Anoia closed 2025 with 55,795 affiliates, an increase of 1,175 people (2.11%) compared to the previous year. This growth percentage exceeds the Catalan average, which stood at 1.9%. Anoia ranks as the tenth region with the highest year-on-year growth in the country.
Although absolute growth is led by people with Spanish nationality, the relative increase in foreign affiliates is highly significant. In the last ten years, the number of foreign affiliates has doubled, rising from 2,425 in 2015 to 5,270 in 2025. This represents 9.45% of the total affiliates in the region.

Anoia is the second region where the proportion of foreign workers is lowest among all affiliates, at 9.45%, only behind Lluçanès (8.27%).

The year-on-year growth of foreign workers (6.93%) is four times higher than that of Spanish affiliates (1.60%). Regarding origin, the majority of foreign affiliates in Anoia come from the Maghreb (29.60%), followed by European countries (27.89%) and South America (20,49%). Furthermore, the region remains below the Catalan average regarding the proportion of women in the labor market (45.68% in Anoia vs. 47.28% in Catalonia).
