The Copons Forest Defense Group (ADF) held a specialized training session on March 7 to prepare volunteers and test new machinery ahead of the annual fire season.

The session focused on coordinating protocols and testing newly acquired equipment, including extinguishing tanks and water backpacks. These upgrades were funded by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Barcelona Provincial Council, with logistical support from the Copons Town Council.
Local authorities praised the dedication of volunteers such as Franc Pasqual, Toni Marimon, and Sam Cortés. Since 1986, these groups have been essential for forest management and fire prevention across Catalonia, integrating local owners and residents in nature protection.
